A free Alpha version of BitTorrent's peer-to-peer Sync program has been opened to all. Sync allows unlimited, secure and automatic file-syncing for remote backup and for transferring large files between machines. Intel plans three strategic reference architectures that it says will make it possible for the IT and telecom industries to accelerate development for software-defined networking and network function virtualization.
