Windows IT Pro Community Honors Centrify

Windows IT Pro Community Honors Centrify with 2013 Community Choice Awards in Five Awards Categories -- Centrify Server Suite, Centrify Express and Centrify’s Technical Support Team all Named Award Winners in Annual Windows IT Pro Awards Competition Determined by Readers

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 25, 2013 -- Centrify Corporation, the leader in Unified Identity Services across data center, cloud and mobile, today announced that it has earned awards in five separate awards categories in Penton Media’s Windows IT Pro magazine annual awards program. According to Windows IT Pro, the 2013 Community Choice Awards represent the cream of the crop in the various markets the magazine covers.

The Windows IT Pro Community named the Centrify Server Suite as a 2013 Community Award winner in the Best Auditing/Compliance Product, Best Interoperability Product, and Best Security Product Awards categories. Centrify Express and Centrify’s Technical Support Team also earned awards in the Best Free or Open-Source Tool and the Best Vendor Tech Support Awards categories, respectively.

In today’s IT environments, threats or breaches associated with the actions of insiders -- such as employees, IT contractors, offshore IT workers and even partners -- can be malicious or completely unintentional. Linking access privileges and activity back to specific individuals establishes both the control required to minimize security risks and the visibility required to achieve compliance, resulting in operational efficiencies across heterogeneous server environments. However, managing user privileges can be challenging in many organizations since identities and entitlements often reside in disparate silos or are managed locally on servers rather than centrally. The Centrify Server Suite leverages existing directory infrastructure, allowing organizations to identify and eliminate “blind spots” in administrator access across the broadest range of Windows, UNIX and Linux platforms, resulting in one single identity for users and one unified identity architecture for IT.

“Participation in our 2013 Community Choice awards was excellent,” said Jason Bovberg, senior editor at Penton. “Our Windows IT Pro, SQL Server Pro, and DevPro awards programs are unique in that the product-nomination process is open to readers. We don’t just present a predefined list of products and services, thereby limiting scope. Instead, the community both nominates and votes for the best products of the year, ensuring a nice breadth of inclusion in the surveys. Our winners have earned a unique honor to stand out among their peers as winners of our Community Choice Awards.”

“Windows IT Pro is the leading source focused on Microsoft Windows technologies and applications, and we are honored to be recognized by its community of readers again this year, this time in five distinct awards categories,” said Matt Hur, Centrify Senior Director of Product Management. “These honors are especially rewarding because the nomination and voting process for these awards are all driven by the Windows IT Pro community and real-world users of the solutions. The industry’s users turn to Centrify to unify their management of all identity, access control, and audit policies across the industry’s broadest set of heterogeneous systems and applications on premise and in the cloud, all while leveraging existing skills and Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure.”

The Centrify Server Suite lets organizations centrally control, secure and audit access to cross-platform systems, mobile devices, and applications by leveraging an infrastructure they already own -- Microsoft Active Directory. Built on an integrated architecture, the Centrify Server Suite strengthens security, enhances regulatory compliance initiatives, and reduces IT expense and complexity. The Centrify Server Suite delivers secure authentication and single sign-on, role-based access control, privileged identity management, mobile security management, user-level auditing for Windows and UNIX systems, server isolation, and encryption of data-in-motion for the industry’s broadest set of heterogeneous systems and applications on premise and in the cloud.
