xMatters grows executive team with new CTO role -- appoints Abbas Haider Ali as chief technology officer
SAN RAMON, Calif., April 30, 2013 -- xMatters, inc., the relevance engine company, today announced that Abbas Haider Ali has been named chief technology officer. Abbas, who most recently served as xMatters' technology evangelist, will apply more than 15 years of experience in systems engineering, product strategy, technical marketing and to the newly created role.
"Abbas has been instrumental in working with customers to understand their needs around alerting, messaging, mobility and process improvement requirements in IT Service Management," said Troy McAlpin, CEO, xMatters. As chief technology officer, Abbas will act as a catalyst for technology and business change. He will also be responsible for and assessing new technologies, helping to drive innovation across the organization and developing strategic partnerships.

Abbas joined xMatters as vice president and technology evangelist, and previously guided product strategy as a vice president at Managed Objects (now Novell BSM). He graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Computer Engineering.
