Storage Replication Service from SunGard Availability Services Offered Through EMC Select Program

Wayne, Pa., May 12, 2010 -- SunGard Availability Services' Storage Replication Service will be available starting June 2010 through EMC® Select, a program which helps customers easily acquire components that comprise an information infrastructure. SunGard's Storage Replication Service leverages EMC RecoverPoint/SE technology and SunGard's AdvancedRecovery services to help organizations recover quickly and cost effectively following an unplanned event.

Companies are aggressively trying to drive capital expenditures out of their IT infrastructure without sacrificing performance or availability. While improving the ability to protect and recover data is a priority, many are reluctant to invest in point products to resolve those needs. Instead, organizations are searching for solutions that address more than one business problem. With SunGard's Storage Replication Service, companies can avoid both capital expenditures of operating a second data center and investing in duplicate recovery platforms.

SunGard's Storage Replication Service, powered by EMC RecoverPoint/SE technology, is a comprehensive data replication and disaster recovery solution for small to medium-sized organizations. The Storage Replication Service is part of SunGard's AdvancedRecovery portfolio, which helps companies cost effectively address the performance, cost and risk of application-specific availability requirements using replication and disk-based backup technologies, meeting recovery time objectives of less than 12 hours.

The Storage Replication Service uses EMC RecoverPoint/SE continuous data protection and remote replication solution to host a customer's replicated EMC CLARiiON® storage system information at a secure SunGard location. Customers have access to a comprehensive suite of SunGard Recovery Services, including IT infrastructure and support personnel for both recovery and testing purposes. SunGard helps companies reduce the time and effort they need to invest in disaster recovery, and improve the quality and measurability of disaster recovery testing.

"Compliance with strict regulatory requirements and managing significant transactional business records are driving organizations to protect critical data at even higher levels," said Matt Mainstruck, manager, EMC Select Program. "SunGard's Storage Replication Service, now available through EMC Select, will help customers to confidently recover their data quickly, effortlessly and cost-effectively without the time and expense of setting up and maintaining a disaster recovery site."

"SunGard is addressing the increasing demand from customers for faster, more comprehensive data recovery solutions," said Melissa McCoy, senior director, channel program development of SunGard Availability Services. "SunGard's Storage Replication Service will help companies realize higher availability while optimizing their IT spend. Today's announcement is about a new approach to protecting the applications and data resources that differentiate companies within their industries and help create business advantage."
