NetCitadel Leadership Team Grows as Company Appoints Former Palo Alto Networks Executive

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 13, 2013 -- NetCitadel, Inc., the pioneer in innovative threat management solutions, today announced that it has named Larry Link, former Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Palo Alto Networks, to its Board of Directors.

The addition of Mr. Link to the board expands the expertise and experience of the NetCitadel team, which was founded in 2011 by security, networking and virtualization veterans. Along with his experience in guiding early-stage companies, Mr. Link brings a unique understanding of the next-generation security challenges facing enterprises today.

“We are thrilled to welcome Larry Link to the NetCitadel Board of Directors,” said Mike Horn, NetCitadel co-founder and CEO. “Larry’s outstanding track record in the security industry makes him an excellent addition to the NetCitadel board.”

Mr. Link joins existing NetCitadel board members Krishna “Kittu” Kolluri, general partner at NEA; Rohini Chakravarthy, partner at NEA; Mr. Horn; and Theron Tock, co-founder and CTO at NetCitadel.

“The ability to surround security alerts with context, accelerate threat prioritization, and enable real-time response uniquely positions NetCitadel to address the threat management market,” said Mr. Link. “I am very excited about the opportunity to work closely with the NetCitadel board and executive team during this exciting stage of the company.”

Mr. Link’s operating experience spans three decades and includes leadership roles at four well-known startups. Most recently he was Senior VP of Worldwide Sales for Palo Alto Networks, growing the company from its first sale in 2007 to IPO in July 2012 at a run rate in excess of $400M per year. Prior to this role, Mr. Link was Senior VP of Sales for Silver Peak Systems. Before that, he ran Worldwide Sales at Neoteris from inception through its acquisition by NetScreen Technologies in 2003. Prior to Neoteris, Mr. Link ran Enterprise Sales for Excite@Home from its launch in 1996 through its IPO in 1997, and its subsequent merger with Excite in 1999. He also is on the Board of Directors of Clutch Mobile, and is an advisor to several startups targeting the enterprise market.
