F5 BIG-IP Platform Integrates Digital Element's IP Geolocation Technology -- Accurate, Granular Location Data Routes Application Traffic To Increase Performance and Enhance User Experience

ATLANTA, GA, December 11, 2012 -- Digital Element, the leading provider of IP geolocation and IP Intelligence technology, today announced that F5 Networks, Inc., the global leader in Application Delivery Networking (ADN), has deployed its NetAcuity® IP geolocation technology to provide geographic contextual data Relevant Products/Services for its BIG-IP application delivery platform.

F5's BIG-IP solution is based upon an Intelligent Services Platform that provides the industry's broadest range of application delivery services, including intelligent load balancing, acceleration, security, etc. that work together to ensure IT organizations' applications are fast, secure Relevant Products/Services and available. Geolocation in the BIG-IP platform maps IP addresses and related data to geographic locations at various levels of granularity, routing application traffic Relevant Products/Services to the nearest and best-performing data center for high availability and increased user experience.

"Geolocation data enables our customers to provide enhanced traffic management Relevant Products/Services as an important component of our BIG-IP solution," said Calvin Rowland, VP of Technology and ISV Relevant Products/Services Alliances at F5 Networks. "Digital Element's contextual geolocation technology provides our customers an efficient, cost-effective and high quality solution for application availability and security problems, while supporting the latest IPv6 data."

In addition to efficient routing of application traffic, Digital Element's IP geolocation technology helps enable website content localization by setting the default language page and customizing content for a specific region, as well as aids in enforcing download and access restrictions based on locality.

"Digital Element's technology fits nicely in the BIG-IP application delivery platform," said Rob Friedman, executive vice president, Digital Element. "The ability for F5 to apply our technology to help manage network Relevant Products/Services traffic, geo-target web content, and enforce digital geographic rights, clearly demonstrates the versatility of IP geolocation data in today's global business world. We look forward to working with F5 to alleviate future application network challenges for customers."

Digital Element revolutionized the geolocation space when it first introduced geolocation technology in 1999. The company quickly evolved this non-invasive technology to include much more than geographic information and now offers other IP Intelligence factors such as Connection Speed, NAICS codes, Home/Business user, SIC Codes, Domain Name, Company Name, Organization Name, ISP, Language, and more. In 2009, Digital Element introduced the only validated, partner-contributed geographic ZIP code and postcode level data, giving marketers reliable and accurate hyperlocal targeting capabilities. In 2011, an IPv6 database was introduced, representing the next evolution in the company's NetAcuity technology.
